Centennial Light Bulb

September 16th, 2019 Posted by Eesmärgid 0 thoughts on “Centennial Light Bulb”

The Centennial Light is the world’s longest-lasting light bulb, burning since 1901, and almost never switched off. I was amazed by the news and would like to express my great respect to the inventor of the light bulb but also to the people who have managed to keep the light bulb burning despite new inventions.

Reverse the formula for happiness and success.

We think we have to be successful, then we’ll be happier. But out brains work in the opposite order. If we can raise somebody’s level of positivity in the present, then your brain experiences a happiness advantage, i.e. you brain in positive performs significantly better than it does at negative, neutral or stressed. Your intelligence rises, your creativity rises, your energy levels rise.

Your brain at positive is 31% more productive than at negative, neutral or stressed.

My month in Italy (Vol 5)

My family decided to give our little contribution to Porto Tricase, which had shown us great hospitality and helped us in so many different ways to achieve the goals of our trip.

So, on a few days we just went to the beach in Porto Tricase to clean it up. As we did so, some people joined us or thanked us with an appreciative smile or ‘Grazie!’.

I also participated in the Clean Up Italy initiative, where we collected just cigarette butts to lay an emphasis on their negative effect on environment.

Great, Mentor Sandra Vabarna!

Sandra Vabarna, a member of famous Estonian folk rock band Trad.Attack, is going to deliver free mentoring to one bagpiper and one band over a one-year period, helping them reach their goals. 🏆 It requires a lot of time, energy and work from all stakeholders.

Having both experienced and delivered mentoring, coaching and supervision for more than a decade, I can say with full confidence that all the three disciplines can be a life-changing experience for all stakeholders. Mentoring, coaching and supervision all support the growth of the client, but are equally enriching for the mentor/coach/supervisor and benefit society as a whole.

I wish Trad.Attack good luck with their master plan – to play in every country in the world. 🎼

Grateful for the appreciation

In May 2019 I was happy to receive Certificate of Appreciation from Harku Society for Child Welfare.

I’m not quite sure what it was for, but I guess for having delivered lectures and practical classes to students aged 9, 14 and 18. Some memories from the experience:

My month in Italy (Vol 4)

Marika Saard’s contemplation cards were always with me. One of my clients summarised her coaching experience with the help of a card as follows:

Coaching for me was taking the pearls from the shell.

It sound beautiful also in her mother tongue: ‘Il coaching per me è stato raccogliere le perle dalla conchiglia.’

‘Coaching for me was taking the pearls from the shell’ Elisa

My month in Italy (Vol 3)

In Italy I delivered coaching and supervision in very different environments, but due to favourable weather conditions often also outdoors.

Nature helped to enrich our sessions providing additional tools whenever necessary – architecture, breeze, rocks, flowers, shells, tree brances, sand, clouds etc.

My month in Italy (Vol 2)

In addition to visiting several school, I spent some time on different playgrounds. First I went there to play with my kids in the evenings but then I discovered that it was also a great place to make new contacts. While the children were playing their parents were often happy to find someone to talk to, especially to a foreigner. They were often curious about the purpose of our long stay, which gave me a good position to introduce coaching and supervision and talk about work-related issues both in Italy and Estonia.

What impressed me about the playgrounds was the fact that all the playgrounds had also some equipment for disabled children.

My month in Italy (Vol 1)

I lived one month in Italy in spring 2019.

It was a very fruitful trip in Salento, where meeting the unknown was my daily friend, who equally annoyed, surprised and kept me awake.

Among other things which I will share in my later posts, I managed to visit and create contacts with several schools.

Connecting two schools and helping to experience something new – video chat between 2B Tabasalu Ühisgümnaasium and Instituto Comprensivo ‘Tricase Via Apulia’ 4B

Taking part in ‘Stop Bullying, Be a Friend’ final event (Liceo Statale G. Comi)

Communicating with the teachers and students through art (Scuola Media G. Pascoli)

School full of creativity, beauty and hospitality (Scuola Materna ‘Tommaso Caputo’)

A lot of fun – teaching the students a poem written by me 🙂

Concert introducing a project carried our by school Tommaso Caputo
